World Environment Day - Our Land. Our Future. We Act Together

June 5th, our Founder and Executive Director joined the International Forum for Peace & Diplomacy (IFPD) at Millennium Park, Abuja, to commemorate World Environment Day under the powerful theme: “Our Land. Our Future. We Act Together.”

In his remarks, He highlighted the harsh realities of climate change rising temperatures, devastating floods, prolonged droughts, and food insecurity that continue to threaten lives and livelihoods across Nigeria and Africa. He noted that human activities, especially plastic pollution, deforestation, fossil fuel dependence, and poor waste management, have significantly accelerated these crises.

“Climate change is not a distant threat it is here with us. But the solution also lies in our hands,” he emphasized. He also called on every individual to take personal responsibility: reducing single use plastics, planting trees, adopting sustainable waste practices, conserving energy, and making eco friendly choices in our daily lives.”

He reaffirmed SOFA’s commitment to climate justice, youth empowerment, and grassroots environmental action across Nigeria.

Together, we can #BeatPlasticPollution and build a greener, more sustainable future.

Let’s act today for a better tomorrow! 🌱
